Having shitty, corrupt, thuggish cops is expensive.

Not for the cops I mean. But for the taxpayers.

Keep in mind, Trump's pardons meant that a great many Jan6 criminals didn't pay off their debt for ransacking the Capitol.

So these Senators are adding to the cost of Trump's attack on the Capitol even while taxpayers ALSO have to pay for his attack.
"The provision, tucked into a measure to fund the legislative branch, appears to immediately allow for eight GOP senators to sue over their phone records being seized in the course of the investigation by Jack Smith ... into the riot at the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021." www.nytimes.com/2025/11/10/u...
Spending Bill Would Pave Way for Senators to Sue Over Phone Searches
Republicans have voiced outrage that Jack Smith looked at G.O.P. lawmakers’ phone records surrounding the Jan. 6 attack. Legislation to reopen the government would allow them to sue for $500,000 each.

The President pardoned members of his private militia after they failed to overturn an election; they, in turn, pledge their support to him and urge him to use them to police civil society.
New:

On The Gateway Pundit's podcast yesterday, Stewart Rhodes announced he's relaunching the Oath Keepers

He also urged Trump to “call us up as a militia" & "order us all to come together in our counties under his command."

These are gut wrenching accounts. Understand what this administration is perpetrating against their perceived enemies (the most vulnerable humans) with their disgusting policies and enforcement efforts. Be aware, be a loud voice against these atrocities, and elevate those who are seeking justice.

Seeing The Decemberists w/ the Oregon Symphony @ Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall Friday night was such a wonderful experience (2025-11-07)!

The symphony _really_ elevated the show and the music. ❤️

Almost cried a couple times, surely I would have if I had been smoking 😂. 1/3

tl;dr: Because troops were already blocked with preliminary orders in Oregon, this changes nothing on the ground immediately.

It is, however, now a permanent order — on both federalization and deployment — and is a huge deal. And, of course, will be appealed.

".. the conservatives are tacitly endorsing Trump’s position that any other gender identity is, in some sense, “false”—not real, not serious, and not entitled to their respect. The logic is every bit as transphobic as Trump’s executive order; the Court simply uses more legalese to embrace it."

What are the effects of the shutdown on SNAP users? Propel provides an app to SNAP users to allow them to track their spending and so can offer real-time estimates of needs.
About 70% of SNAP households have a $10 or less balance on their SNAP card accounts.

If you do use biometrics to unlock (I do) have a quick way to turn it off.

On Android go to Settings
> Lock Screen and AOD
>> Secure lock settings
>>> Show lock down mode option

Enabled it. Then when you long press screen/power button you can quickly enable Lockdown Mode.

"As a result, platforms built as public town squares for self-expression & connecting with others are now more like private property, where the loudest voices belong to those with power, or those with views that align with the views of people who control the algorithm."

!! “It has become impossible to go forward with anything that’s ethical,” said Joseph Rice, [recent local party chair]. “The Republican Party needs to run on ethics, morality, fairness and it has to be direct representation of the citizens and people of Josephine County. We don’t have that anymore.”
