Looking retirement in the face and I still don’t know what I want to be when I grow up.

He/Him

Profile pic: grumpy robin fledgling sitting in front of wooden deck rail.

Banner pic: view from my front porch with lots of oak and maple trees leafed out.
Haven’t used Zoom since retirement in awhile. Connected to Zoom meeting test room to check settings.

Everything worked great except mic; had input, no mic output. Dove into settings.

Nothing.

Added some judicious swearing.

Nothing.

Then saw I was muted in Zoom.

Yeah. It was time to retire.

A leisurely hike around Hematite Lake in the Land Between the Lakes on the Kentucky side. Turtles (and, apparently, beavers) doing their thing. This was just before the big storms rolled through.

Sitting on the couch, surfing the net on my phone because it was easier than grabbing my laptop despite it being nearby.

Peripheral vision sees movement on laptop & alarm bells in head go off.

CRAP. Cursor is going nuts, I’ve hacked!

Mouse was under the couch cushion.

Never mind. Carry on.

Too many people on here seem to believe there are exactly two kinds of Americans: ardent politically-obsessed Bluesky users, and frothing MAGA cultists.

There are a LOT of people in this country who *just don’t pay a lot of attention one way or another*.

And we absolutely can reach them.

Welp.

A brick wall crumbled last night and pretty much let me bust the family mythology of any Native American ancestry (as I long suspected).

But, hey, I got a new one. Apparently, an Irish ancestor pissed off King George II.

Ventured on Facebook to check flood reports and local road conditions.

Nope.

Hasn’t changed.

So, my fellow comorbid #tea drinkers, are there ANY herbal teas out there that don’t interact with statins, aspirin, or heart meds?

Had to venture out for groceries. The number of obvious physically ill adults not practicing even basic kindergarten-level personal hygiene was appalling. Never mind masks.
