Timely warning from @pollytoynbee.bsky.social
The hard right is out to destroy the BBC (for both commercial & ideological reasons) just as Trump’s Maga are doing in the USA.
They want to replace facts with propaganda.
Dangerous times.

One nice detail that can easily be lost in this graph - even right wingers trust the BBC more than the right wing tabloids
Here’s the same data, but with trust broken down by political views (circles are trust among people on the left, +s the right).

It’s not just that the BBC is widely consumed — it also has solid trust on both left & right, whereas trust in the biggest US media brands is hugely polarised.

only in the small print of this article do they make clear that the pensioners paying an extra £2,500 of tax would have to have

I know many pensioners are asset rich but how many have income at that level?

Kinnock is one of the finest proponents of progressive thought in this country and the best prime minister we never had.
In 2010, an interviewer told Neil Kinnock that the Labour Party "never used to understand aspiration".

Kinnock gave an absolutely brilliant answer that should be learned by heart by every Labour MP. (0.42 to 1.22)

Finding today harder than yesterday. As so many British Jews have said, the attack wasn't a surprise.

But the instant protests, plus the stream of "takes" explaining why Israel is actually to blame and it's fine to target a Synagogue if it has "Zionist" ties... That's harder.
