How should we target behavioral public policy interventions?
Fresh off the press, in this paper, I and coauthors argue that in climate policy, targeting the local top 10% by wealth and income provides effectiveness, fairness and public acceptability. #nudge #bpp

Throwback to last Friday's symposium on challenging neuronormativity across disciplines. I got to talk about my work on the fundamentality of self-control for human & nonhuman! 🐒 🐺 agency, but most importantly, I got to meet a pack of scholars across disciplines working on ADHD and inclusion.

#writers how do you create enough separation & headspace for focused writing? I find it quite hard -- challenges:
-working from the same laptop I use for work, leisure, etc
-no specific writing space
-> feeling like I'm in between tasks rather than focused
How have you hacked this?

Oppiaineemme kesäharjoittelijat tekivät hienon videon filosofian opintoja aloittaville! Sopii kyllä pidemmällekin edenneille. Vaikka videossa on @utu.fi kiinteistöjä, sisältö taitaa toimia myös muissa yliopistoissa ;-) #opiskelu #filosofia www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tyba...

There's still a few days to register! ⏳

What does the feeling of losing control tell us about being an agent? What can self-determination theory teach us about human agency? How does depression influence autonomous agency?

These questions and many more are probed in our up-and-coming workshop 🧠

So apparently some trans folks are coming to Finland as asylum seekers… from the US.
Used to be that we’d get queer asylum seekers from places like Iraq.

I received a heartbreaking email today: A paper in a special issue I’m editing is being retracted because one of its authors is afraid of losing their job and their legal status in the U.S. if they publish a scientific study on evolution. Yes, on evolution, nature's engine of diversity.

- Announce in public that you literally have to pay to get people to support your cause
- Spin it as an exciting award
It's not just that this suit-wearing juggalo gang makes my jaw drop. They somehow succeed in making it drop for a very different reason each time.
If you don't want to see this horrible garbage happen in every future high-stakes election, make sure it demonstrably fails in the Wisconsin Supreme Court race by helping elect Susan Crawford

My US-based colleagues, FYI:

Finnish Research Council is about to announce a special call to fund researchers abroad to relocate to Finland.

By all means this is not intended to lure you into moving to Finland, it just happens to be planned right now by pure chance.
