And why, if you're in MI, PA, WV or DE, you should give them a try.

In-depth piece from me on Alex Scott's departure from WPT Global, and what this likely means for the brand - went out on @pokerindpro this morning [paywall].

"Pivot to Asia" is basically "return to roots" - and how WPT Global as a brand fits into that is unclear. 👇

Poker media is by far the most self-destructive, self-defeating little cottage industry i've ever been familiar with.

Every week i'm blown away by how isolationist it is - everyone acting like it's a a zero-sum game, not the collective effort to grow the game.

2000 Golden Passports were given away for the WPT $5 Million freeroll. Only 1457 actually played.

I realize the passport didn't including accoms/flights etc, but hard not to see this as something of a fail that over 1 in 4 players who won a ticket worth $2500+ just didn't show?

One thing I've been wondering since the GG purchaes of WSOP is whether under GG's ownership there would be a shakeup of the WSOP festival - in particular, cutting back substantially on the number of bacelets (especially online).
