Many people were driven into military service because impoverished communities had so few choices for escaping a cycle of poverty, it was the only path by design. This Veteran's Day I think of them, and others who laid down their lives for a country betraying its own principles of "freedom."

I'm in the second year of watching Met operas livestreamed in a small local theater with friends, starting as a know-nothing. Yesterday was La Bohéme. My fav and baffling line, sung as if profound: "They call me Mimi; I don't know why." She doesn't seem annoyed, only 🤷🏻♀️

If this is a defense of altfda's recent cruel ageism, Altssa might not give fucks but I do. It's a bad time for a lot of us. Not just Feds. How we treat others when under stress shows who can be trusted. And who can't.

I dreamed I was in a meeting where I felt I had to say "god willing" for safety and my dead Baptist ex-FIL sitting beside me laughed and whispered "you mean Buddha willing" and I thought uh oh he knows I'm an atheist but he doesn't know I'm not a Buddhist 😂

Sanctuary cities and states should mean more. It should mean active protection and defense against harm, not just refraining from helping ICE.

I'm so tired all the time, and everyone I know looks tired. One of my friend groups does potlucks about every 6 wks and we are fading out earlier and earlier. Idk if we all have long covid or if it's fascism or both. I felt bad for my son when he asked if we were doing anything for Halloween

My son says he's practicing small talk. Yesterday he hit me up with "so, what are your goals for this fall?" And I'm like omg goals? Was I supposed to have a goal? I'm one foot in front of the other without a goal, just trying to exist 😂😂😂

I am worried about the lapse in authorization for Medicaid telehealth. My patients live 6 hrs from peds specialists. Travel is especially hard and stressful for families of special needs children, instead of a video call to review labs, xray results, etc.
