Sure it would’ve been nice to get those commercial FM checks but not at the cost of diverting my own taste or misleading my audience.

Black radio did NOT support Rap. Most stations wouldn't even report Rap record spins accurately, or if they DID play Rap records, they'd be saved until after sundown. Best case scenario? Played at the top of every hour to avoid constant calls/requests...
