Before antagonistically commenting on my takes, take a moment to consider that I’m smarter, wiser and simply better than you, and thus there must be something you’re missing if you think I’m wrong. There are at most 10 people to whom this doesn’t apply.

Anti trans radicals have long targeted parents because they know parents are the most potent figures of authoritarian violence against queer kids. Esther Ghey is merely their latest weapon.

Esther Ghey is of this parental decision, and her decision to bemoan her daughter's ability to be trans, befriend the family of her murderers, and deadname her throughout a book is because she's a fucking ghoul of a transphobe. She grieved the loss of her son, not daughter, let's be real.

The parents of trans people are notoriously unreliable figures in our lives. The phrase "deadname" arises from our communal knowledge that our own parents will erase our transition and very lives for their own narrative convenience when the world conspired to kill us before our own parents die.

Brianna Ghey was not murdered for being Esther Ghey's daughter, and Esther locating the problem of her daughter being murdered by radicalised cis kids in her daughter being trans is a result of her class loyalty. She simply wants to prevent kids from being trans. She gets no more grace from me.

"Queers come out because it's like getting high."

Ok, man. Sure. Would you like this plate of almond-flavored brownies I just baked?
Julian also doesn't believe in plural people, they're just excitable queers getting high off coming out again

No one knows how little blood ties mean like trans people do.

Are you genuinely too thick to be aware of how many trans people's families misgender and dishonor us in death, or are you just vile and craven enough to pretend you don't know even when talking to queer people?
Do you not think it's bizarre to have strangers on the internet decide they know better than Brianna's own loved ones on what is or isn't insulting to her memory?

I've got no time for Rosie Duffield, but she turned up at a drop-in event in Parliament and that's been the limit of her involvement.

I mean putting aside this aspect/point which I don't have a problem with, it's funny/pathetic how boring and uninsipred criticisms of anarchism still are.
Oh I'm sorry you're angry anarchists are critical of electoralism and reformism? Get new material, we've been over this many times...

probably the most malicious, defamatory, targeted blocklist i'm on (that i know of, i don't keep tabs lol) is the "pedojacketers" list made by the pr0st@sia founder. and guess what! i still dont want to talk to anyone who would follow that list or especially its creator. trash taking itself out imo
I think it’s sort of funny how people will get on like 5 blocklists from people with like 300 followers and lose it- meanwhile I’m like on a thousand and I wish it was more 😭
Blocking hatemongers is one thing but this trend of using mass block lists to avoid hearing from people who might or might not hold points of view you expect to disagree with is unhealthy imo and hurts the platform.

Bluesky was better off with folks like Margaret Mitchell and Giada Pistilli on it.

And then still be discerning! "Am I listening to someone upper-class and invested in projecting a certain image of their country? Am I talking to someone who is conservative and supports the country's local right-wing parties? Am I talking to an activist or a worker or a zealot?"
I think one thing you need to learn to do if you're a white westerner is to become wise to western POC inserting themselves between you and the non-western POC they want to talk over. Those people often have their own motives. We live in the age of the internet, so go to the source.
Diaspora communities participate in this via something of an international 'honor culture'. Many assiduously champion their homeland cultures without knowing what it's like to actually grow up in it. No, my culture is very progressive and modern and not at all "backwards", white man! How dare you!

If you can't cope with the reality, complexity, and nuances of non-Western life, then SHUT UP ABOUT IT.

Non-Western women have our homegrown patriarchies treated as a fact of life by our own cultures and as a racist fiction by our diaspora and by Westerners who grant said diapsora epistemic authority over our lives.

And we need you all to FUCKING STOP.

So much of diaspora politics is born of feeling embarrassed about their home country and not wanting to feel that so they make shit up.

And then, when an actual non-Westerner shows up, a woman or a queer or a member of a marginalized community, they are silenced because their struggle, their oppression, their experiences, their lives, their EXISTENCE is very inconvenient to the quaint orientalist narratives being sold.

A non-Western culture cannot be a complex society with its own castes, classes, conflicts, and contradictions. It has to be enlightened, simpler, happier, more primitive but all the more wise and enriching for it.

Y'know, orientalism.

That's all Westerners can do. Orientalism or xenophobia.

If you talk about misogyny in a non-Western culture, you are immediately assumed to be dismissing that culture as evil and barbaric, worthy of being nuked from orbit. This runs the high risk of you being called racist!

So, in order to prevent this, Westerners ignore any issues completely.
