In honor of Veteran’s Day, here’s the SABR bio of Dwight’s own Eddie Higgins. He served during WWI in the Army’s medical department at Camp Grant near Rockford, Illinois. Thanks to the Dwight Historical Society for helping to tell his story. ⚾️ sabr.org/bioproj/pers...

Well, I cannot recommend An Evening with David Byrne any more enthusiastically.

This was the most fun I’ve had at a show in forever.

In case you were wondering, Jack O’Lantern is a southpaw.

Happy Halloween!

Only 4 pitchers have recorded a Pitcher’s Cycle — striking out every batter in the opposing lineup — in the World Series:

Trey Yesavage, 2025 G5
Randy Johnson, 2001 G2
Bob Gibson, 1968 G1
Jesse Barnes, 1921 G6
Trey Yesavage struck out all 9 Dodgers at least once tonight, a feat that Herm Krabbenhoft dubbed a “pitcher’s cycle”

I love having been able to play a tiny role in @markarmour04.bsky.social’s amazingly ambitious Satchel Paige Project.

This postcard sent from Cooperstown is immediately one of my favorite things.

I LOVE that 1977 OPC included a totally-not-airbrushed Bobby Murcer on the Cubs, it’s kind of like a traded card considering Murcer was depicted as a Giant in the flagship Topps issue.

Completed the entire Cubs Hostess run 1975-79–including the two variations from 1975.

Huge thanks to @markarmour04.bsky.social for the kind help with this project.

What could possibly be cooler than getting a Hall of Fame postcard of your guy in the mailbox, postmarked from Cooperstown, and sent with a Hank Aaron stamp?

Single-season RBI champ and all-time RBI champ all on one amazingly thoughtful gesture by @heavyjstudios.bsky.social.

Following a conversation the other night with @ckamka.bsky.social, I was inspired to add a whole bunch of sweet oddball Cubs.

These really help to round out my collection.
