Several of our students this morning are anxious because they heard there are ICE raids happening in our town.
I haven't been told any district official policy, but I will not allow any ICE official to harass/take one of my students while they are in my care. Arrest me.

This weekend my husband and I have planned our first night away from the baby since he was born 7 months ago.
In-laws are taking the baby for a night, hubby and I have couples massages booked, dinner reservations at a nice restaurant, and a hotel stay booked with a room with an en suite hot tub!

A story of two school environments:
My husband was hired at his school a year ago. He's spoken with his principal twice since then.
I work in a different school in the same district. My principal babysits our infant so we can have date nights.

This year has been a tough one. Losing my mom while still learning how to be a mom myself has been a major struggle. And with living paycheck-to-paycheck on teacher salaries, Christmas will be small.

My son (6 months) is feverish again, and is still tugging on his ear after an ear infection (we finished his antibiotics a week ago). 🙁 No daycare, can't go in with a fever. I feel like he's constantly sick., and that I'm doing something wrong.

I had to lock down my account on the other place. I was debating with a MAGAt (pointless, I know), and he decided to tag a known terroristic hate group in the post to target me as an LGBT teacher. I started getting harassing messages.
