Unprecedented!

Sickening that :

1) the homeless are vilified

2) when Trump expresses a passing whim, the bulldozers are sent in, with no reflection

3) no thought given as to why many people in the US live in such poverty, no planning for alternative arrangements

A prophetic voice.

If anyone thinks research is irrelevant, an indulgence, see how this man's long-term research interests shine a light on the white-hot political drama of our day.

What is going on in anti-vaxxers' subconscious?
Central to my research has been that the pervasive ableism behind vaccination refusal and hesitance has roots as far back as the eighteenth century. The deep fear of disability (especially cognitive or intellectual) as a fate somehow worse than contagious disease is absolutely not new.

Here a socially active congregation is being thrown off their own land, ostensibly for pickleball.

It takes a really great man to take out his fury on a woman librarian.

That'll own the libs 🙄
Dr Carla Hayden was a truly great Librarian of Congress. It is an outrage that she has been sacked - a national shame on the United States. I had the pleasure of knowing her and working with her - she’ll continue to do good in the next phase of her career whatever that is.

Thank you you Revd Dr @revbrenw.bsky.social
A few weeks ago a fox decimated my sister's henhouse, leaving only one lonesome chuck alive. Sunday's gospel where Jesus compares Herod to a fox and himself as a mother hen gathering her chick's under his wings suddenly became very clear. And a strong metaphor for some parts of our current world.
