I gave ChatGPT 4.o a photograph of me sitting & asked it to make a drawing from that, sitting at a desk, with a transceiver on top. It doesn’t look like me (not a problem) but AI’s idea of a transceiver made me chuckle. Still, what do you expect for 6 seconds work? 😂

So it seems, as internal space for mounting a radio becomes harder with each new car, fitting an antenna is now more problematic than before, as modern styles and materials progress.

So it seems, as internal space for mounting a radio becomes harder with each new car, fitting an antenna is now more problematic than before, as modern styles and materials progress.
The antenna I use has its own ‘grounding’, so is electrically efficient, but the mount will only fit on one part of the tailgate. This is made of metal (a bonus 🎉) but is low down.
Fortunately it is still effective, but I’d prefer the antenna to be placed at the top of the tailgate. Better there 👍🏻

I bought a new car last February. The tailgate area is mostly glass and plastic, which is not good (physically and electrically) for mounting a VHF/UHF antenna.
