Do not vex the grimalkin.

I remain convinced I died of a massive stroke November 8, 2016 and have been living in literal Hell ever since. Hello my fellow damned.
Well thank the gods that’s over.

Now you know who to blame.
The Diderot Effect is when, after buying something, you feel pressured to buy more things to match it. The name comes from an 18th century essay by Denis Diderot, lamenting that a new red velvet robe led him to replace his furniture.

There's a lot of talk in the news lately that Art and Humanities are "easy" topics and are made fun of by being called Micky Mouse degress (which to me makes absolutely no sense... that Mouse could by the world... in fact already has) but Art and Humanities is not an easy topic. 1/7

Another dentist appointment, another list of “required” treatments that are A. Outrageously expensive and B. not covered by insurance.
Coincidentally the same procedure “required” by my last dentist that took two years to pay off and the reason I haven’t been to a dentist in 2 years. #FML

Income inequality is higher in the US today than it was in 1774, even if you factor in slavery.

I have a story in @reedsy.bsky.social’s contest this week. It’s one of my favorites that hasn’t been able to find a home yet.
Enjoy!

If you call it the "Democrat party," I automatically assume you don't know what an adjective is, and more generally that you've listened to too much Fox News-influenced bullshit.

New Denver Airport mural dropped.
This mural has gone up in Kingston, ostensibly for Christmas but AI has ensured it's actually to celebrate the return of our dark lord Cthulhu

For some reason, all the advertising on this Prime live TV channel are in Spanish today.
I’m expecting to be raided by ICE any minute now.

Who got stupid-banned this time?
Probably an unpopular opinion but “don’t type death threats even jokingly, yes that means you” seems to be one of the few real Bluesky rules and not something I personally struggle with.

“No more social justice.”
Hegseth: "No more social justice. No more political correctness. No more toxic ideological garbage that infected the department. No more identity months. No more DEI offices. No more dudes in dresses. No more climate change worship. No more division. No more gender delusions."

Yes, they caved because many Democrats lack a coherent or compelling vision for their party. But the shortest answer for why Democrats caved is that Chuck Schumer is the party’s leader in the Senate. The fish rots from the head. trib.al/AaaXLnQ

Chuck Schumer Needs to Go
The Democratic Senate leader has lost the thread. Everyone is suffering because of his lack of judgment.

He said, from his knees.
"It may not be much comfort for those bitter about what they see as a needless surrender. But there’s at least a chance that we’ll look back at this moment as a key turning point, one that produced a Democratic Party less willing to live on its knees." — @paulwaldman.bsky.social
Cue the rebellion
The Democratic base is enraged at their party's capitulation — and that's a good thing.

"letting this fight go" means millions will lose our health care. If Dems can't fight for healthcare they do not reliably stand for anything. In purely political terms, fighting for Obama's signature achievement (ACA) would be "a good strategy" to retain dem voters. Stop capitulating to monsters.
