“Whether in Europe, North America, Brazil, the Congo Basin, or Indonesia, preventing peat degradation is essential for humanity if we are serious about achieving carbon neutrality by mid-century,” said Franziska Tanneberger, a peatland scientist and director of the Greifswald Mire Centre.

As part of the @peatmothership.bsky.social project we are organising a series of workshops focusing on modelling the carbon cycle in peatlands. The workshops will share best practice. Today's first workshop introduced some of the models that include a peat implementation. Further dates soon!
