It’s not a football game l, Henry. This shit is negatively impacting our lives and the lives of people we care about, which is why people talk about it.

And usually when there are only two of something, we usually don’t say “every”

We have two choices and neither are fit for purpose.
there has to be a term in psychology for people who think everyone/every party in American politics are terrible, but also they spend 23 hours a day talking about American politics?

Obsessive negativism? idk political hipsterism? hmmm

"the USPS is a miracle. it's in the constitution. for the price of a single stamp you can send a letter across the country, from Hawaii to Maine. Trump is trying to take that away from you. He's attacking Christmas cards and wedding invitations. It's un-American and it has to stop."

The USPS posting a NINE BILLION DOLLAR LOSS!!! sounds terrible. Certainly worse than if you said "USPS costs thirty dollars per person per year" even though that means the same thing and more accurately describes a government service

The reason the judiciary functions is because judges understand that despite everyone being human beings who hold grudges and have stupid opinions and peccadilloes and flaws, there is a sense that you have to justify what you're doing on more than "because I say so."

This Court is undermining that.

Yeah for sure buddy.

The issue isn’t knowing how. The issue is a vulnerable person in deep pain and despair being encouraged to end their life rather than being offered help.

As someone who has been there, I can confirm that people offering help vs telling me ways to die made a difference.
I think it's fine Chat GPT is telling people how to kill themselves. They'll figure it out one way or another if they're serious.

American fascism is hilarious; it’s politics as aesthetics, but the aesthetics are ass.

We are not and have never been the greatest democracy on the planet.

This kind of mythologizing of America is a big part of how we got here. Believing we are the greatest anything just leads to a collective refusal to come to terms with the very real issues we are facing and have always faced.
When you ask how Germans became immune to the horrors of Nazism during the 30s, remember that this is now 2025 and this crap is being said in the greatest democracy on the planet.

Watching @alivitali.bsky.social and I’m begging folks to stop yielding to the idea that there are potential war crimes when there is no war— Congress hasn’t authorized military action. The DoD is simply ordering the execution of civilians in peace time. Crime against humanity is more apt.

The less you know about something, the more convincing AI is.
A study by Dayforce shows 87% of executives use AI for work, compared to 57% of managers and just 27% of employees.

I think this explains the massive disconnect we see in how CEOs talk about AI versus everyone else. It also raises the question of how useful it truly is for frontline work?
Execs are embracing AI more than their employees are, new research suggests
