Does a bit of running for Maidstone Harriers (parkrun up to ultra marathon) Athletics fan 🏃Follows Maidstone Utd ⚽ Kent🏏
A fun couple of days running. The Let's Lift the Curfew run last night, highlighting the issue of women not feeling safe running after dark, and then it was down to Maidstone River Park parkrun today for a nice little unplanned progression run. Looking forward to 11 easy miles tomorrow morning.

Lots of runners out along the river path today! Another cold one but still enjoyed an easy paced 9 miler to round off another solid week. Only 7 weeks to the Brighton Marathon now so it's good to be running regularly again.

The monthly Harriers parkrun tourist trip took us down the M20 to Ashford today. Fastest I've run for a while so I was pleased with that, and it was a cold morning ❄️ so the coffee afterwards was much needed!

First time back at the Harriers club run for ages, and I picked a good one as it was our first glow run! A 5k circuit around the town, 50+ runners with glow sticks, flashing lights and music, it was great fun! 8 miles in total tonight, including running to and from the club.

Good to be back at Maidstone River Park parkrun this morning. Took it easy as I continue my recovery from the calf injury. Third run this week after back to back 5 milers during the week, looking forward to a social 10k with a friend tomorrow morning.

Time for some indoor athletics. Astana and Belgrade were pretty underwhelming, this should be a good one.

Thanks to a calf injury I picked up just after Xmas January was pretty much a wipeout, but I've started to get back into this week. Keeping the pace quite gentle as the calf is still not quite at 100%, but still on track for Brighton even if the aim now is just to get around.

Time for some delayed athletics. Meant to watch Belgrade live but completely lost track of time this afternoon and missed the start! 🤦

That's another £30 a month if you're into cycling, winter sports or want to watch the French and Australian Open tennis. And they wonder why people are watching illegal streams 🤷‍♂️

One year ago today! 💛 The best day I've ever experienced watching football, absolutely unforgettable. I don't think I'll ever get bored watching those goals go in, the atmosphere that day was something else.

Really feel for Grand Slam runners up who have to stay around and make a speech after losing. If it was me I'd just want to be out of there as fast as possible!

First time back at Maidstone River Park parkrun for a while. A really nice tribute to Howard, the timekeeper when the event started who sadly passed away recently. We ran up his hill one final time. It was also lovely to see Kelly Holmes running today!

A six mile walk from Rye to Winchelsea via Rye Harbour. Finished in the New Inn for a refreshing pint of Harvey's Best. There's a cold wind but otherwise a lovely morning for a walk.

Race 2 of our cross country league on Sunday. Looks like we're getting proper cross country conditions.

Had to break out the full winter kit for tonight's run. And looking at the forecast it won't be the last time this week 🥶🌧️

Lee Carsley got plenty of criticism for getting his tactics wrong against Greece in the first game. He deserves a lot of praise for getting that result with that team tonight.
