Anglican priest and academic, europhile & football fan (Seagulls). Published author on subjects ranging from medieval mystics to climate change. Love my black lab.
Message from Academia.edu: "AI has turned your paper into a shareable comic". What kind of mad world is this? I'm out of there.

Amazing morning in Oxord University Parks. And the dog enjoyed the treats at the coffee stall.

Thanks to the Southampton #Classical Association for their generous reception of my talk on legendary women saints this evening. A great audience!

I've just discovered Lireka (great name) - a French online bookshop that delivers French books free worldwide. The latest Minier got from Grenoble to me in Oxfordshire in just a few days!

I went into my local library yesterday for the 1st time for years. What a transformation! Warm, welcoming, people on laptops, an older gentleman doing a jigsaw, and so many services on offer. I'll be back very soon #booksky

Dear BHA historians
As a child I heard about a distant relative who played for Brighton while working as a milkman, probably in the early 1900s. Does this ring a bell with anyone? I don't even know a name - possibly called Albert or Alfred but maybe not. Thanks! #BHAFC

Hullo. This is my first day on BlueSky, watched by Winnie. I'm a semi-retired Anglican priest and academic, writing on everything from medieval mystics to climate change. We live near Oxford but we love Brighton & Hove Albion FC.
