I keep seeing the word “embarrassing” to describe the Trump-Zelensky meeting. I don’t think that’s the right word. Sure, it’s embarrassing, but that’s about seventeenth on the list of words that come to mind. I feel angry, sickened, betrayed, sad - all of that even more than I feel embarrassed.

We are rightfully appalled, but shouldn’t be surprised, that Trump has sided with the aggressor Putin, for he has repeatedly shown us that that is who he is too. It is the character of r*pists to try and take and dominate what isn’t theirs to have.

Some of the most encouraging takes I have seen of today have been from Black men and women. They know what long haul activism for positive change requires. They are good at acknowledging the pain of present reality, without losing hold of resilient hope, purpose, and determination. Thank you.

It took almost fifty more years, but the Equal Rights Amendment has finally prevailed against stalwart misogyny. None too soon.
