Christian Nationalists are not living out the Gospel, they're bastardizing it. True Christians must recognize the rot inherent in this movement and have nothing to do with it. We do not share common cause with those who seek raw, unfettered power in the holy name of Christ.

I keep seeing the word “embarrassing” to describe the Trump-Zelensky meeting. I don’t think that’s the right word. Sure, it’s embarrassing, but that’s about seventeenth on the list of words that come to mind. I feel angry, sickened, betrayed, sad - all of that even more than I feel embarrassed.

"You have filled the world with women, slaves, and beggars." -Julian the Apostate (4th Century AD)

The Roman emperor scorned early Christianity’s appeal to the socially marginalized (women, minorities, and the poor).

Our faith should be widely known for its concern for these groups.

We are rightfully appalled, but shouldn’t be surprised, that Trump has sided with the aggressor Putin, for he has repeatedly shown us that that is who he is too. It is the character of r*pists to try and take and dominate what isn’t theirs to have.

You do not have a mandate from “we the people” when:
-only 31% of eligible voters supported you
-you betray the Constitution
-you inspire national protests every couple of weeks
Thousands rally outside the Capitol to protest Musk and Trump’s destruction of the U.S. government.

Great thread 👇🏻
You begin to appreciate the pace of events:

Hitler became Chancellor on January 30.

The Reichstag burned on February 27.

The Enabling Act was signed on March 23.

Dachau opened the day before.

Some of the most encouraging takes I have seen of today have been from Black men and women. They know what long haul activism for positive change requires. They are good at acknowledging the pain of present reality, without losing hold of resilient hope, purpose, and determination. Thank you.

It took almost fifty more years, but the Equal Rights Amendment has finally prevailed against stalwart misogyny. None too soon.

A Rough Ride Ahead

Anyone who has worked with sexual assault or domestic assault victims will tell you that the greatest need right now is a re-haul of our outdated, misogynistic family and criminal court system. It is almost impossible to…
