The original Japanese version of Super Mario 64 contains exactly 64 ! Blocks. Whether this was a deliberate reference to the game's name or merely a serendipitous coincidence is unknown.

In 2017, an official set of Super Mario stamps was published by Japan Post. When put into a certain order, four of the stamps appear to depict a short story of Peach writing Mario a love letter.
