can confirm that the only time I've been rejected by the UVA Library or JMRL is when they can't find the title to buy or already own the book, and I've requested a LOT of books
HOT LIBRARY INTEL: you can ask your library to purchase specific titles for their collection, usually right through the library's website.

Librarians can't know every single new title, nor can they mind-read what their patrons might want to check out. Give it a shot!

Diversity is at the heart of union power 💪🏼
JD Vance claims that diversity weakens unions, as people end up distrusting each other and not organizing.

Let me tell you two menswear stories related to this claim. 🧵

Hey, so...Covid rates have gotten real high. Maybe change your behavior to fit this new risk profile? Stop eating indoors at restaurants, mask on mass transit, that kind of thing?

I was talking to one of our legislators at a Labor Day rally today and as I was trying to make a Serious Point a dog came up behind me and stuck his nose in the back of my knee, therefore ruining my composure AND denying me an opportunity to pet it because I had to go back to my Serious Point 😭

I just sent my email even though I am an Albemarle County resident!
ACTION ALERT: Tell city council to reject the ordinance to ban camping on city property!

On Tuesday, September 2nd (tomorrow!), City Council will be considering an ordinance that would make it illegal to sleep on city property or to leave personal property unattended on city land. 🧵
We strongly object to the proposed ban on camping on public property in the city.

This inhumane policy was condoned by the current right wing Supreme Court in the Grant’s Pass decision, which Chief Kochis sites in his justification for the policy.

Homelessness is solved by housing, not policing.

Reminder to my Cville friends: the start of public schools and return of UVA students inevitably results in an upturn in COVID (and other respiratory illnesses). This is a good time to start wearing a mask indoors again.
Every single person on our 4 man team tested positive for COVID today. First day of classes are in God's hands now. I'm going to bed. Wear your mask and wash your hands cville
