The monument to Jane & William Ashburnham, Ashburnham, Sussex. 1675 by John Bushnell. William kneels at the feet of his dying wife, his hands held out in a gesture of despair & helplessness. A flying putto crowns her. I'm currently studying Bushnell with a view to creating a comprehensive biography.

East window at All Saints, Ravenstone, Bucks. 1965 by John Hayward. I used to detest 1960s glass but recently I've come to appreciate it more. It's much maligned (The "Buildings of England" calls this one "insipid"). I now regularly record 60s glass even though it's outside my project remit.

A font and cover of 1786 made from Lithodipyra, an artificial stone, from the factory of Mrs Coade. Debden, Essex. It's a very hard-wearing material and looks like it was made in the past few years instead of 240 years ago.
