I will always love wildly impractical superhero outfits. Superheroes should be like Kabuki theater, like Grand Opera... nobody should look at those costumes and wonder how they stay on or where they button.

In a world where people fly, clothes can also defy physics.

Yes, but...

When a translation wins an award, with few notable exceptions (Hey Eisners!), the translator is not included in the nomination, the listing, or even acknowledged as winning the award. They get no trophy.

This is a HUGE problem. Awards NEED to acknowledge the translator.
For example, Ken Liu's English translations of Liu Cixin's first and last books in the Three-Body Problem trilogy won a Hugo Award and those translations are widely understood as an absolute masterclass in what can be accomplished through translation.

Gou only did this one Japanese folklore story. I told him he should do more and he said "No way! They are too scary! I'd rather play around with Western monsters because I know they are not real."

You don't want to mess around with the ghosts of Japan.

It's so true. I went downtown (terrifying), talked to strangers (eep!), sang in public (woof), embarrassed myself, got laughed at, got laughed WITH, and tried out this thing called a ONE WHEEL that I am definitely going to buy one of now. My goal? Spark delight.
One of the most TRUE signs I have ever seen at a march. Write this down and act upon it, friends.
