Important lesson of last night's elections: progressives won across the country because they didn't water down their message and their values.

I don’t know how they do it, but international queer coming-of-age films are so devastatingly beautiful. Just finished watching Young Hearts and its joined my favorites among Close and Heartstone.

Instead of looking for “the next liberal Joe Rogan” or asking for donations by email or any of the “optics” which try to cater to the nonexistent “centrist”, the Dems SHOULD be out on the streets, in the communities they represent, actually doing the work

Absolutely donate to libraries, but…I would heavily caution donating to Wikipedia. The people who write the articles are volunteers (a third of which have been written/edited by 1 person). Which means that those donations don’t go the people who keep the site running.
One of my first contributions in the new year will be to the Wikimedia Foundation to help support Wikipedia. And then my next contribution will be to my local library.

I’m a little late, but this is the last issue of Passengers Journal that I had the pleasure of editing. I’ve enjoyed all the people I’ve met and had the honor of publishing. Take a gander, hope you enjoy! 😊

What I Read in 2024
It’s hard to limit the best books I’ve read this year to a handful of titles, though out of the 60ish books, these felt like standouts. Some focus on queerness (the heartbreak of a first love in...

Denver gave people experiencing homelessness $1k/month. A year later, nearly half had housing.

They also had fewer ER visits, nights spent in a hospital, and jail stays.

The report estimates that this reduction in public service use SAVED the city $589k.

Denver gave people experiencing homelessness $1,000 a month. A year later, nearly half of participants said they had housing.
Participants in Denver's basic-income program reported having more-secure housing, though results were similar in the trial and control groups.
