As I wrote to clients in the past three things seem certain.
1. AI is going to be transformational to users.
2. AI is certainly transformational to tech businesses: they will make way LESS net margins than before (that is why Alphabet has been dragging its feet).
3. That CAPEX might not be all CAP
Nice charts from @mims.bsky.social on AI build-out. He quotes JPM that every iphone owner globally needs to pay $35 a month to generate enough $ to justify capex. Seems to me that equates to ~$9 a month for every smartphone owner. Still punchy, but I can imagine that.

📍Senator Fetterman had a VFIB—the leading cause of cardiac arrest—he almost died if not for his implanted defibrillator, which can cost $34,000 to over $51,000. Days ago, he also just voted with GOP to gut health insurance tax credits for millions. Hope he has a change of heart.

Russia stages new ‘trial’ of savagely tortured Ukrainian partisan already sentenced to 26 years
The charges against Hryhory Sinchenko, Volodymyr Makarenko and Dmytro Palenko are grotesque with Russia’s torture of Sinchenko dating back to long before its full-scale invasion of Ukraine

Good Setser piece on rising global imbalances. Thanks in part to his work, central bankers and mainstream economists are slowly beginning to acknowledge that rising global imbalances can be a problem for the global economy.

Eventually they all will.
