The people pushing for the elimination of birthright citizenship are currently committing atrocities against immigrants within our country's borders and murdering fishermen overseas. This cannot be ethically discussed as an abstract legal question. There is no law here, only a fascist will to power.

Please note that any "centrist" pundit who blithely discusses the "merits" of arguments for eliminating birthright citizenship is either a fascist enabling fascism or a clueless clown enabling fascism.

without birthright citizenship in the united states, you don't have a democracy and you don't have rule of law.

revoking birthright citizenship gives fascists free rein to purge the country of literally anyone they don't like. it opens the door to atrocities and mass murder. i am not exaggerating.

Before the midterms of 1866, President Andrew Johnson called his congressional opponents traitors and said they should be hanged.

Voters were so profoundly moved by his words... that they gave his opponents a supermajority in Congress, and the nation got the Fourteenth Amendment.

Michael Pham fled Vietnam at the age of 13. He was named bishop of San Diego a month ago.

Today, he stood watch at a courthouse: ICE agents were “standing there covered with masks as we walked toward the courtroom. Eventually the agents scattered and went away”

Eisner Awards voting is open until June 5th— I’m nominated for “Best Lettering”, both for FALL THROUGH and LIES MY TEACHER TOLD ME. I do all my lettering by hand, directly on the page as a full part of the artwork, and your vote would mean a lot to me. Thank you! 💜 www.comic-con.org/awards/eisne...

I’m thrilled to find that I’m an Eisner Award nominee for Best Lettering for my work in both FALL THROUGH and LIES MY TEACHER TOLD ME! I love hand-lettering my comics and take a special pride in it— it’s the underappreciated step in the process which makes so much of the comics magic possible.
