Yes, the energy transition is proceeding and yes renewable energy capacity is expanding each year. But it’s complementing - instead of replacing - fossil fuel demand. We need to collectively peak and reduce fossil fuel usage yesterday.

More politicians need to adopt this stance and actually act on a set of values. If citizens are expected to adapt when they're RIF'ed, laid off, or entire professions disappear (I.e. idev) then so can our so-called leaders who should represent our country's top knowledge and leadership.

On the other hand: 27 individual billion-dollar climate/weather events in the US in 2024 (up from 5-year moving average of 23).
