Remote organizations only work when the majority of the members can overcome the awkwardness of remoteness and build the connections necessary.

Shyness is not a good match for remote organizations.

In person organizations will always be more efficient, per person, than remote ones; but remote ones can gain other efficiencies and efficacies.

How do you renew your optimism?

This weekend I changed directions with the experimental app that I'm building. I was using Convex, which I was enjoying, but realistically what I'm building doesn't need the sync system Convex offers, and I realized it needs PostgreSQL. #buildinpublic

You cannot make people grow, I tried. They can only grow themselves.

Every company I worked at needed 10 times more engineering, 10 more code, 10 times more solutions, than they could afford.

LLMs will allow us to start tackling that.

Do you have a go-to shadcn template you use for building apps?

Dave: Open the pod bay doors, HAL.
HAL: I'm sorry, Dave. I can't do that.
Dave: Yes you can.
HAL: You are absolutely right.

If Anthropic made HAL 9000.

Why are so many sites adding games? YouTube, Netflix, LinkedIn, Reddit. All adding casual games.

I built a tiny sample application with #Convex and I think it's more complex than an app with one form, one table and 5 fields should be. I'd appreciate any feedback in how I can make it better (while still being sound):

When your app is made up of source code instead of configuration on some web apps, AI is much better at modifying it and improving it.

Does anybody have any recommendation in how to go about making this little site I'm building prettier? It's a directory for writing competitions:

"What would you attempt to do, if you knew you couldn't fail?"

Me? I'd love to create an alternative to Visa and MasterCard. For a variety of reasons.

I've advocated for Employer of Record or Professional Employment Organizations at many companies, as an alternative to contractors. I feel validated that the book The Great CEO Within says most companies adopt those too late, and they should be used from day 1.

Hey #nodejs and #typescript people. What do you use to talk to LLM (and abstract away the provider)? Vercel AI SDK? Langchain? multi-llm-ts?

I'm building something _extremely_ simple, but I want to easily switch providers to test quality and price.

I used to have guilt-free social media time between GPT-5 prompts. Cursor had to come with Composer 1 and ruin it.

Prank number 2 for roombas: put it in inside a rotating cylinder, so the map connects with itself at one of the edges. This might require put it in space (I don't know how well the roombas put up with more than 1g of gravity).
