Dad, runner (sort of), lover of music, football, watching sport and unhealthy eating.
Felt really good for a mile and a half, then my calf really stiffened up. So much for stretching

Made a pre-New Years resolution. For the first time in my 40+ years, 20 of which I’ve ran regularly, I have hashed together something resembling a #running plan. I’m fed up of getting injured and having constant aches and pains, I’m even gonna try stretching before AND after.

Sometimes running feels easy, sometimes it feels hard. That was the latter, but felt good to run through it - and a stitch at one point - to get a 10k done. #running

Many years ago, every Friday over a period of about 18 months I would listen to the Stone Roses debut album in the car to and from work to get my weekend started. It’s an album which has brought me nothing but joy. Will be with a very heavy heart when I put it on today

Nice run, slip-sliding through some icy bits #running

After a pretty shitty couple of months health wise, back to it. First run since Oct 15 and easier than I thought it would. Feels great to have got out - here’s hoping I stay fit to out run the mince pies #running

I’m all for finding the good in people, but Alexander Larman might have set the bar a bit low

Must be back to full fitness. Gasping for a pint.

Ooh, the old knees have me feeling my age today. Glad it’s a WFH day - a lunchtime power nap might be on the cards

As a cricket fan, that 1,111 calories burned is bothering me. Umpire Shepherd will be spinning in his grave. The smells from a pizza shop with a fish’n’chip shop next door hurt me far more than the distance tonight. #Running

First post-virus hospital stay run! Felt a lot better than I thought it would. Decided I’m making the most of these runs from now on and #running the Super Furry Animals/Gruff Rhys back catalogue

Not the weekend I’d hoped for, but the #RyderCup finale awaits. Still undecided on what’s more offensive: the “banter” or the vulgarity of US fans.

So, that infection is getting better, largely thanks to my first overnight hospital stay in over 35 years. Genuinely in awe of the NHS and the values it represents

Man, the heartbreak of handing over a beer festival ticket #Alewaslost

Bought new trainers earlier in the year and injured my hip before I got to wear them, unable to run for 2 months. Just had a running vest delivered on the same day I have been diagnosed with a chest infection and feel truly awful. My #running purchases are cursed!

The true test of a good book is your commitment to go downstairs and get it once you’ve got into bed

First attempt at Bagels. Taste better than they look! #baking #bagels

7am on a Sunday morning, and I’m sat on the sofa with a blanket over my lap researching running vests.
Have a great Sunday, folks

Pretty happy with that one. Old legs might still have some life in them. #running

Decent run, got a nice little rest after bumping into an ex-colleague I’d not seen in a while and missed most of the rain. What a time to be alive! #running

There’s nothing more satisfying than pulling something aesthetically pleasing from the oven. Sourdough starter will hopefully be ready to attempt something a little more adventurous over the weekend. #bread #baking

Went a bit further, got piss wet through, but did see a rainbow. All-in-all, a mixed bag. #running

Up bright and early this Saturday to bake some picnic sandwich bread - you can tell Bake Off is back in our house. Pretty happy with how these two turned out. #Bread #Baking

Lunchtime run before the weather changed. Lovely first mile, struggled for the next four. 3hrs of work and then it’s weekend time 🎉 #running

50 minute drive there and a 40 minute drive back. All for a 31 minute run, ran at a pace faster than my average driving speed. #qualitytime #running
