Feel basically the same.Great fun learning Lumines for the first time and the stages that hit *really* hit. But almost half the songs feel like the interstitial music they play on Love Island or something. Heartbreakingly lame tracks.

So I guess the embargo is up on Lumines Arise. It's pretty neat—as someone who isn't used to Lumines' ruleset, it's unbelievably challenging.

A personal hurdle, however, was that moreso than Tetris Effect, I thought that so much of the soundtrack was absolute horseshit lol

Few_Tennis1584 • OP • 1h ago UPDATE #2: They arrested her based on a marijuana possession charge that happened 3 years ago in Texas. She was supposed to have a meeting with immigration in between then and now, but it was canceled and never rescheduled. Her status was recently updated to illegal by the current admin, so that's why they arrested her. She was given two options: 1. Self deport to the country of her choice; she has the pay for the ticket ofc, and likely will not be allowed in back in. 2. Try to fight in court, and she will be moved to a MALE facility while she awaits trial. She could still be deported but the government gets to choose where she goes.

Shachtman's (excellent) piece on the ADL reminds me of @naomiaklein.bsky.social's writing in Doppelganger. Zionism has been used to flatten our imagination of a better world. It treats antisemitism as a natural law that can never be overcome, therefore requiring constant, violent repression.
NYMag piece: ... the Trump administration had "prioritized the battle against antisemitism" and noted "we do not believe the recent presidential action on immigration directly will reduce the surge of anti-Jewish hate." In some ways, it was a pertect encapsulation of the ADL's new tack. The group was founded on the idea that Jewish rights and safety were inextricably linked to the rights of others. Once the ADL's primary focus became stopping anti-Zionism, its calculus changed. Its new version of Jewish defense was zero sum and dependent on a conception of a singular Jewish viewpoint. "New plan," Greenblatt said in his address to national leadership last year, repeating a phrase that had recently been taken up by other Jewish organizations: "Put on your own oxygen mask first." From Doppelganger: Wolf's experience of being harshly attacked, threatened, and professionally penalized for questioning Zionist orthodoxy is far from unique. It's part of a much larger story about how a culture that once coursed with debate about these very questions-from our duties to universal rights to the possibilities for multiracial solidarity-had become its mirror opposite. There used to be so many ways to be Jewish and to battle Doppelganger, continued: anti-Semitism; it was a question, one with many possible answers. And then we were told that there was just one answer.
