The layered barriers to reporting desperately need to be understood. Beyond children being made to feel complicit in their own abuse; he targeted young girls who were exploring their homosexuality, so for them to report what had happened, they’d have to tell their parents that they might be gay.
He victimised 3500 children yet only 4 felt that they could report it. Unacceptable.

Children must feel that they can tell a trusted adult as soon as they feel uncomfortable or unsafe. It is important that parents are supported to help keep the online world safe.
