Every time I listen to a new offering from Alice in Chains or Jerry Cantrell, I'm amazed at Jerry's ability to write aggressive, pounding riffs that make me want to move my old body like it's 1995 again. Revisiting last year's "I Want Blood" and there's that reliable, pulsing, heavy groove.

It's disappointing that the problem defining the limits of American comics, identified decades ago, is still pretty much unaddressed: a gap in storytelling aimed at younger readers, broad audiences, and especially girls and women. This is why we are still being trounced by manga.
