A great example here of how it simply does not matter what happens, and how the public come to be so disastrously misinformed on more or less everything. When all our media outlets feed the public much the same shit day in, day out, then it’s no wonder Yer Da has developed Creutzfeldt–Jakob disease.

This is why I say the British press is so much more poisonous than e.g. Fox News. Fox might be wackier and more insulting, but alternatives are available. In Britain, this is everything: all channels, all day, every day of the year. Unrelenting.

So love wobbegongs. Everything is good about the wobbegong. Its name. Its flattened Oscar the Grouch face. Its frondy bits. Its lazy life as a hungry rug. And it’s a shark. Outstanding animal 10/10
The Tasselled Wobbegong is a master of disguise that can eat a fish almost as big as itself in one gulp. It's classified as a shark, but when it lays on the sea floor it looks like a harmless rug if you manage to see it. But with powerful jaws and sharp teeth they are no fish to mess with.

On certain key areas, especially related to rights, you need a rizla paper to measure the difference in outcomes, if not stated policies, between Reform and Labour. That is not to say they are the same though. It's dangerous ground to think things "can't be worse" under Reform. 1/

This is not a suggestion, even remotely, that Labour's current strategy of "support us doing evil crap because otherwise Reform's evil crap will be worse" is the right one. Reform's evil crap will be, but they'll get away with a lot because Labour have laid the groundwork and "normalised it". 2/

Y'all the latest episode of the #Kilauea #eruption just went CRAZY. It looks like pressure built up enough to explode out the ground around the two existing vents (first few seconds), leading to a massive surge in lava fountaining.🌋🤯

Ed Davey says it is wrong to boycott Eurovision because of the "ceasefire.”

Meanwhile, since the ceasefire, Israel has killed 360+ Palestinians, injured 922+, and Gaza still sees 8 deaths/day on average.

The Genocide continues.

Pretending there is peace is a lie.

#BoycottEurovision
"There is a ceasefire in Gaza and therefore this action is the wrong thing"

Lib Dem leader Ed Davey hiding behind the pretend 'ceasefire' (which is the point of it) & saying its wrong for countries to boycott Eurovision. Pathetic. Supporting BDS is the very least anyone can do

Cruelty is anhedonic. It rarely delivers the euphoria promised because, in the abstract, what feels righteous and joyful inevitably reveals itself to be sordid and small. Then it's "No not like that". "No not enough". "No the real battle, the forever war to make this feel good starts now". Forever.

Nope, it's betrayal.

This is another situation like the two child benefit cap. The govt is expending all its capital defending a status quo that is absolutely morally and politically revolting - right up until the moment it becomes impossible, when it will flip to have always been a 'moral mission' to reform it.

Institutions should fight fascism to the end. Institutions assimilating to fascism have betrayed us all.

Institutions claiming they conformed against their will have sacrificed the members that make it up & in doing so become useless & should cease to exist.

The ones who fight give folks a chance.
i hope every single person who still buys harry potter merch or engages with that franchise is happy that they're literally making girl guides cry

One of the things that is worrying me is that the virus *did* do the education, and it didn’t work.

In other words, people are so dumb, so jaded, so politicized, that it will take an *incredibly* lethal version to convince the antivaxxers.

And frankly, I’m not even sure that will work.

The restriction on car makes in Motability is a perfect and horrible example of Government By Vibes. it saves no money, it helps absolutely nobody, all it does is makes a few cruel and angry people feel better while disadvantaging people with mobility needs.
