Animal loving introvert, totally addicted to Sarah Pinborough's books, Frasier and Cheers.
When not at work, I spend most of my time reading, listening to music, playing choice-based video games, and avoiding people at all costs. 😅
How's your life?

I fought so hard. Harder than I have ever fought before
A part of me died and yet I am still standing somehow
My heart's beating but there are no emotions anymore
As darkness falls decathexis whispers: “You can rest now”

We Live Here Now ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ #books

New addition to my bucket list: "manage, someday, to figure out where a plot written by @sarahpinborough.bsky.social is headed BEFORE the final reveal."
Oh, wait. Only achievable goals are supposed to go on bucket lists? Well... crossing that one off with a sigh.

Too many endless hours in each day, too many months weighing down this first week away...

I have a new nominee in the "WTF did I just read???!" category: We Used to Live Here. 😵‍💫🤯
For the first time ever, I am TOTALLY unable to rate a book — I didn't hate it, obviously, but I can't decide if it deserves 3, 4 or 5 stars. That's how puzzling this whole reading experience was. 1/11

I finally found my first 2025 five-star read: The Last House on Needless Street. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I know: I am (very) late to the party but most of the time, when a book gets too much hype, it puts me off reading it. I have no idea why that is, I'm just weird, I guess. 😶‍🌫️
Anyway: it was brilliant! 💖 1/3

Sorry, I need to vent.
HOW can readers and authors rave about a story with a MASSIVE plot hole??! It's like giving 5 stars to a chair that collapses if you sit on it: "Fun ride, didn’t mind the crash. The way it fell apart was so artistic!" Uh, no, it’s just broken. And the floor isn't comfy.🤦‍♀️ 1/4

The prices of e-books in France have been getting higher and higher, and now some e-books cost even more than a paperback edition, which is totally insane. I am all about supporting authors, but this feels like a rip-off. Fortunately, I got a free Kindle Unlimited trial at the start of 2025. (1/5)

My first read of 2025: I unmasked the killer by the end of chapter 7 and guessed the second plot twist halfway through. Either I picked the wrong thriller, or I should quit my job because there's a brilliant career waiting for me in law enforcement... 😒
*sighs*

My favorite books read in 2024. All of them are either 4⭐ or 5⭐ reads. If I included only my 5⭐ reads, it would have been a VERY short list! 😅
My standards:
1⭐: How on earth could this have been published?!
2⭐: Meh!
3⭐: I liked it.
4⭐: Great story, loved it!
5⭐: Brilliant/outstanding/unforgettable!

One more winter read recommendation before I post about my favorite books read in 2024: The Dark, by Emma Haughton.
I read this thriller a few years ago, and it earned 5 stars from me for a rather unusual reason... I'm not even sure I'll be able to explain it adequately, but here goes nothing...!

If this whole UFO/drones stuff that's happening in the US turns out to be something sinister after all, I have a very urgent message for the aliens: kindly hold off your worldwide invasion until June 2025. There is a book I MUST read, and I categorically refuse to die before it's done! #priorities

I'm making my list of favorite books read in 2024, and I’m struck by how some 5-star reads are already starting to fade from my memory. It's odd because I don't give 5 stars lightly — only truly outstanding plotlines earn that rating. Why do some stories stick while others don't? 🤔 #bookthoughts

Another book I always recommend: Come With Me by Ronald Malfi.⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
This beautifully written story will break your heart, blow your mind, and haunt you forever. Everything was meticulously crafted by the author, down to the smallest detail, building toward a poignant, unforgettable ending. #booksky

I've decided to use this account to promote my favorite books, so I can keep them all in one place.
I just finished I'll Be Alone for Christmas by Kristin Mulligan, and this thriller novella, which manages to be scary, gory and funny at the same time, definitely deserves a spot here! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

An early Christmas gift for @sarahpinborough.bsky.social and a heartfelt recommendation to all readers: this is the best book series you'll ever read. ♥ Trust me!
I started working on this video right after finishing Magic, and wrapped it up today. Hope you enjoy! www.youtube.com/watch?v=K18J...

I didn't think it possible, but his new version is even better than the original Tales from the Kingdoms, which were already my all-time favorite book. 👏❤️
I feel bad for the next author I am going to read. Best of luck trying to top this experience...! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ #bookrecommendations #readingcommunity

Well, this was a totally unexpected birthday present! ☺️ I'm not using this app much (still trying to figure out how it works, and how to find other people I know), but thank you so much, @sarahpinborough.bsky.social, I'm honoured!
