Beautiful snapdragons. What colors and energy! Nature in the spring is really helping me cope right now.

Heartbreaking and enraging at the same time.

Due Process matters for everyone!

These people need to be brought back to the US immediately. They should have the right to defend themselves.
“One young man sobbed when a guard pushed him to the floor. He said, ‘I’m not a gang member. I’m gay. I’m a barber.’ I believed him. *** He “began to whimper,” as his head was roughly shaved, “folding his hands in prayer as his hair fell.” He “asked for his mother & cried as he was slapped again.”

Appalling. My 21yo has a genetic neurological disorder and spent years as a child with neuro-oncologists and other amazing doctors at the Pediatric Brain Center at UCSF to stabilize a brain tumor. Research by NIH is the path to new treatments and cures. #NIH #medicalresearch #sciencematters

Seriously???
These are bold and wild allegations from the FBI, which is moving to criminalize organizations like Habitat for Humanity for receiving grants from the EPA.

In a court filing, Citibank disclosed that it had been directed by the FBI to freeze the bank accounts of these groups.

Trump: "We don't need Canada's lumber. So what I'm doing is I'll be signing an executive order freeing up our forests so that we're allowed to take down trees and make a lot of money and then re-harvest trees ... we don't need anything from Canada."

This is a pretty big attack on the First Amendment. And an encroachment on universities' powers to decide what protests to allow and who to expel.....
We need to talk about Trump’s threat to defund universities unless they arrest and expel protesters.

We’re watching classic fascistic institutional capture in real time and if this continues unabated we’re going to look up and live in a world without escape. The time to fight is now.

The goal is to terrorize federal workers into quitting. That’s it. Constant changes. Canceling work from home then closing offices. Laying off probationary employees. It’s designed to break the government. Then privatize it for profit. It’s not efficiency. It’s collapse. Only peasants will suffer.

I have worked with many untenured staff scientists & PIs at NIH. They are incredible colleagues who chose science in public service over more lucrative careers. Devaluing their commitment & professionalism is among the most cruel aspects of the DOGE purge
