New here, and to this genre of medium in general! I’m the athletic bands director at OSU, and PNW musician. Always on the lookout for involvement in discussions on music (wind instrumental, choral, contemporary chamber) and sporting (CFB, EPL, SSBM)
Not mentioned in this great recap:
- 21 turnovers for the beavers in their first D1 matchup
- SICK Space Force uniforms on the falcons
Oregon State shoots its way out of a jam in win over Air Force
The Beavers turned the ball over 21 times, but hot shooting saved the day.

“It is easy to forget, when watching the out-of-control money train on fire that is college athletics, that there are human beings at the center of it all.”

Keeping the humanity in the center of sports is the best way to be a fan. Keeping humanity in the center of sports is challenging in this era.
Robb Akey had a lot to say about Oregon State fans keeping the faith after Saturday’s loss to Sam Houston, and with the football program in flux.

It had me thinking: Without faith that things can get better, what’s left?

Windsor had a hell of a game. There was a play where the snap was three feet off center and he double-handed it and still got the punt off.
Our players of the game vs Wazzu 👏

You guys ever ruin your reputation and give away your tiny little bit of self-worth for free to a person who never respected you in the first place, then get tossed to the pavement with absolutely zero people feeling sorry for you? Me neither.

Parish and company are probably going to be staring down the barrel of a big expenditure window to keep us intact but also I think that's alright. We're not a top six club, but I think we're firmly in the Villa/Everton/Newcastle tier right now. It would be amazing to stay there.

Biggest game in my ~20 years following the club. I sincerely hope that this hardware allows us to keep some players this summer that we would otherwise lose, and maybe make a run at Europe next year. Specifically being able to hold on to the Mateta/Wharton/Eze/Munoz core front seems very important.

It's cup final day. Probably the most important game for Palace in the ~20 years I've been following them

If buying something doesn't mean you own it, then pirating something isn't stealing
Nintendo says it could brick Switch systems if users “bypass, modify, decrypt, defeat, tamper with” their games in updated agreement https://nintendoeverything.com/nintendo-says-it-could-brick-switch-systems-if-users-bypass-modify-decrypt-defeat-tamper-with-their-games-in-updated-agreement/

Companies shouldn't be allowed to tell you how you can and can't use something that you buy from them. The use of the word "illegally" in this headline is really shitty. Nintendo isn't the law

April 1st is accepted to be "don't believe anything you see on the internet" day, but I'd offer perhaps we should take that stance every day.

Four #1 seeds, three #2 seeds, and a #3 seed make up this year's elite eight. This is the most boring tournament of all time
March 29, 2025 at 8:28 PM
The sweet 16 has four conferences represented in it this year. The previous record low was seven, and there is only one team in the sweet 16 for which all five starters began their college career at that school. The new college sports landscape sucks and is boring
