It's been ages since I've been on Bluesky, a break from social media was needed. I finally finished the 1/48 Batman 1935 vignette, background and all. Super happy with the outcome! FYI base plane is a Dora Wings Gee Bee Early Versionmolded. I modded.

Had a terrific time at Valleycon today. IPMS Wings and Wheels ran a top notch show and I was happy to be able to help judge the Gundam and Mecha/non- Gundam. Lots of firepower on them tables. Posted a short video on my YouTube channel, www.youtube.com/live/EDy2BHA...

Destroid Spartan 2 of 2. To have your work published by peers is an honor beyond measure and I'm so very grateful. As to the model, green is original plastic all the rest is new and scratchbuilt. I'm extra proud of the base which added to the story I was going for.

Last of the older work, 1 of 2. Arii 1/100 Destroid Spartan. What this model taught me over 16 months about patience, perseverance, and pushing bounds. So very grateful for the experience.

The dio assembly. Painting the dio base is all that's left which I'll be doing with my older daughter. The prop CA glued to the engine shaft. From this angle, I dig the prop! The painted prop after satin topcoat (VMS) and prior to Tamiya grey pin wash around the center section and hub. The paints airbrushed to create the effect. They were super-thinned via MLT and sprayed at relatively low pressure.

I'm so totally digging how this looks!!! Bore out a square hole under the port wing and stuffed in a 3.2mm Evergreen square styrene tube. Cemented in place via CA glue. After the backgroynd is painted, the tube will be painted to blend in and hide. Carefully cut a similar hole in the backdrop after testing out the angle I wanted, and punched through the styrene and foam. Happy to report the MG-08 gun sights are still attached!!!

I loved @hntdove.bsky.social "How Few Remain"/"Southern Victory" novel series. Been thinking a lot about it recently especially the words of CSA president Jake Featherston which are reminiscent of those used often by the current US president. Do not trust anyone implicitly who says they speak TRUTH.

Back in Philadelphia for the weekend for more college stuff, hitting up a favorite restaurant: Zama. Started with a red miso soup followed by the Tuna Usuzukuri. Sampled my family's dishes too. All fabulous. A little Junmai Ginjo sake complimented the meal nicely. Highly recommended.

The city is Bandai's Customize Scene Base #4, which provided the right amount of scale and size I was ongoing for. I carved out foam to recess up to the street level, then laminate the insulation in stryrene. Picked up this hot wire cutter from Alieexpress for a very reasonable price. Easy to use, especially for cutting circular pieces but like anything it takes time to get proficient at it. Filler will be needed on some areas later. Material is 3/4" foam insulation board. The two pieces roughly assembled. The back section is angled back significantly. Tools used after laminating styrene, to shape and clean up. Not seen, lots of elbow grease...😅

I'm embarrassed to admit...these 2 models have been on sticks for nearly 6 years: HG Bawoo and new HG Qubeley. Likely gonna toss the Bawoo in the spare parts been but i really do want to finish the Qubeley...someday...

Grinding a piece of .5mm Evergreen sheet to the 8mm diameter of the clear plastic piece's center opening to act as the spinning hub. The hub is just thicker than the the clear so there will be .13mm overhang as I want and need. Not seen is the 1mm engine-side part of the hub which will be cemented to the top part. Sawed two small rings from an 11.1mm Evergreen tube to act as the spinning part of the joint between the blades and hub. Sanded down to .2mm thickness and removed a middle finger fingerprint in the process 😂 A short piece of Evergreen 2.5mm rod will act as the protruding center of the hub. Here I'm holding it with a HiQ mini vise (one of my favorite tools) and bull nosing with God Hand sanding sponge. The 5 pieces thin cemented onto the clear piece. 😇😇😇
