This is the first time that any New York State death data from 1973-2017 has been available online.

Woodlawn Cemetery in the Bronx will have a World War I Veterans Walking Tour on Saturday, Nov. 9.

Woodlawn is the final resting place of veterans and dependents of every conflict stretching back to the American Revolution.

The Jewish #Genealogy Society of Long Island (JGSLI) will present a virtual "Jewish Genealogy 101" workshop on Sunday, Dec. 7.

The New York Genealogical and Biographical Society recently unveiled a free enhanced index to the New York, Land Records, 1639-1975 collection on FamilySearch.org

You don't need to be a member to use the index.

The Westchester County Historical Society has recently updated its Revolutionary War Solider Burial Index to include more names and details.

It can now be downloaded as a PDF with links to sources of additional information.

Fold3.com recently announced that the War of 1812 Pension Files now include surnames beginning with U and V.

These pensions were granted to the veteran, his widow or his heirs. The indexing is now 88% complete.

The Orange County Genealogical Society, located in Goshen, NY, will have an Open House on Saturday, Oct. 4, starting at 10:30 a.m.
