I still remember the very animated discussion I had around a fire with a girls group in the Zambian bush on a Teen Missions International trip about whether or not cross body straps on bags caused boys/men to stumble and if we should ever use them.

A big part of the right’s reaction to Mamdani’s victory is the idea that “mass migration” has transformed NYC and threatens to transform America.
But if foreigners are ruining America, then women, whose tender disposition favors so much immigration to begin with, are accomplices in that ruination.

this is something that individual members of Congress could do tomorrow. The government is shut down so they could use their district offices. I suggested in January that they turn those offices into full on community centers where people could find each other re: mutual aid etc...
If I were running the DNC, there would be Democratic Party sponsored food relief banks across the country right now that specifically welcomed anyone regardless of party affiliation.
