AI dubs aren't just an attempt to replace voice actors. Engineering, mixing, writing, directing, and QC are also cut, narrowed down to a single prompter.
When I write dub scripts, it is an exercise in musicality, translation, and personal life experience. A prompter understands none of that.

Today work hosted a Kairos Blanket Exercise with Moon Tide Reconciliation. It was an upfront visualization of the impacts of colonization on the Indigenous peoples of Canada. Of a group of ~50 ppl, only 4 were remaining and one of them were standing on a blanket. Definitely recommend this to others

I've always been convinced that video podcasts exist to force creators to be reliant on a closed distribution platform. Podcasts are built on tech (RSS) that nobody can own. Every major tech company has wanted to migrate podcasts to something proprietary, but it never sticks. Video is their answer.
