Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today to get through this thing called a musical preview of Purple Rain in Mpls.This production needs a lot of script edits before it opens on Broadway. While the singing performances are good, it's story doesn't live up to Prince or film it's inspired by.

Not my Roman Empire, but sometimes I think about Kelly Clarkson's original multi-album contract she signed with Simon Fuller following her American Idol 2002 win. A 7 album deal isn't uncommon & often standard for artists. Since 2017 she's has 3 albums that weren't part of that original Idol deal.
