I never want to see another human trot across a crosswalk, hurry their stroller/kids/mobility device or rush a senior resident through an intersection or any road.
It’s ridiculous, like we’ve been gifted some incredible act of patience from those driving.

I worry that the mayor's office has no vision for Downtown ATL beyond events like the World Cup.

In Seattle they're preparing for their WC games by creating a bike/ped path near the stadium, which is a permanent investment in a sustainable future. In Atlanta we're just repaving streets for cars.

Cars Ruin Lives.
An unlicensed driver purposely hit four pedestrians in crosswalks in back-to-back crashes in south Minneapolis, charges say. One person has died from their injuries.

This letter is making the rounds, and it is spot on. The city cannot grow by expecting all future residents to drive everywhere (I mean, it can, but it would suck for everybody), and people can’t choose to do anything else if you don’t give them an option.

Madness. I’m sure these houses have long double driveways and multi car garages.
"The city decided to change the bike lanes on 3 neighborhood streets to one-way painted lanes, which would allow people to once again park along the curb in front of their homes."
Why Austin will spend $80k to remove newly installed bike lanes
The City of Austin is about to spend $80,000 to remove bike lanes installed six months ago because of the volume of complaints from Southwest Austin neighbors.

Correct headline here would have been: “Lack of appropriate transit infrastructure makes driving around Emory worse,” but glad this is getting attention. They’ve been talking about transit on Clifton at least 20y with 0 actual action. @emoryuniversity.bsky.social, City of Atlanta, and CDC to blame.
CDC workers have to return to campus this month and next, but a spokesperson tells me they don’t expect to have enough parking for everyone assigned to the Clifton Road HQ. Heads-up to expect increased traffic if you live or drive in the area: www.ajc.com/news/atlanta...

The top story on every US media outlet is the crash at National Airport, where 67 people died.

Meanwhile, 67 Americans die in car crashes every 15 hours

The DCA crash is clearly front-page news. Maybe we should give America's road safety crisis the same treatment.
