Let's celebrate your cover art, whether or not it was selected.
Feel free to tag me or get in touch!
This is a dream job for sure! Congratulations!
I'm happy and humbled to take on a new role with @rcsbpdb.bsky.social. I'll be continuing David Goodsell's work on the Molecule of the Month, starting with my first article on Assembly Line Polyketide Synthases! Check it out (animation included!)

I love seeing how far #MolecularNodes is taking scientific illustration! #sciart #scicomm
Excited to finally share that our work is featured as the front cover of ACS Macromolecules' new issue!

Image was powered by the one and only MolecularNodes (thx @bradyajohnston.bsky.social) while I was playing around with surface transparency 😁

I want to see this in action!
Yet another fantastic tool to create breath-taking artwork, together with @bradyajohnston.bsky.social 's #MolecularNodes
Microscopy Nodes is now up on bioRxiv! 🚀

This is a Blender extension that seamlessly integrates and visualizes 3D microscopy data (TIF & @zarr.dev).

High-quality volume rendering for anyone, in both EM and fluorescence, regardless of computational expertise! 🔬

I love these! We should keep showcasing cover designs that are not selected by the journal - they are still amazing pieces of science art!
a handful of cover designs. some published, most rejected.

still aiming for that Nature cover 🎯

Beautiful!
A new special issue of Science highlights research on Earth’s frozen places—from the Arctic to the Antarctic—and how it’s changing due to climate change and the geopolitical challenges this important work faces.

Infographics can be really cool, too! Especially when it's about the analysis of an asteroid sample!
Rock and dust samples brought back from the near-Earth asteroid Bennu contain organic matter, including amino acids and all five DNA and RNA nucleobases, according to two papers in Nature Astronomy and Nature.

Mind-blowing!
Last day of #JanuArty, theme is "angle". Here are some angular Lego bricks, making up the building blocks of life, DNA

#SciArt

Does anyone know of daily challenges for February? Or thinking of attempting daily proteins with #Blender & #MolecularNodes (if you have favourites, I'm taking requests!)

Uhhh do I absolutely love fossils!
Beautiful cover of the latest issue of the Science Advances journal, featuring a fossil of Arthropleura, the largest arthropod of all time

Who doesn't love dinos?!
My 25 years of palaeoart chronology...

Here's a Diplodocus pissing in some Fruitadens. This is an explanation for a fossil described in Locked in Time, a book written by @deanrlomax.bsky.social.

Smart combination of steampunk and DNA that propels life 😎
Proposed #coverart depicting DNA gyrase from E. coli wrapping DNA in a ‘figure-of-eight’ loop, then precisely breaking and passing strands through each other, resealing them afterward. This is a delicate process - if the DNA remained broken, it would be lethal to the bacteria.
