A note on SaneWashing: I read part of this post to family (all liberal Democrats who consume a lot of news, but not social media), and it blew their mind. They all thought it was parody: if Corporate Media did not SaneWash, it would shock US, his approval would plummet from low (30s) to lower(20s).

It all boils down to the core weakness of the American system which is that it was written for people who were pathologically violently protective of their own personal power and all the checks and balances are dependent on said people engaging in said pathologies.
i think that we should charge even people who have been pardoned, because there is no conceivable way the founders intended the pardon power to permit the executive to order people to commit crimes and then pardon them for them

I’d be curious to see if there is any kind of isogloss in the US between e.g. “you boys” and “y’all boys” in areas where “y’all” is the 2nd person plural

Minor point but George Washington didn’t even hang the Whiskey Rebellion conspirators after they were sentenced to death for actual treason.
The President’s call for the murder of Americans is simply un-American. When I say there is no place in our country for political violence, I mean it. It doesn’t matter who says it or why. There is no justification. Every American should condemn this in no uncertain terms.
