The Nordic Optical Telescope (NOT) is a 2.56m optical telescope at Roque de los Muchachos Observatory, La Palma, Canary Islands, Spain.
The NOT team expresses its sincere condolences on the passing of Prof. Francisco Sánchez, founder of @iacastrofisica.bsky.social.
His vision and determination were instrumental in establishing the Canary Islands as a world-class site for astronomy, where the NOT has proudly stood since 1989.

🔭 NOT helps uncover one of the most distant GRBs ever — a message from the early Universe.
