To all my Catholic friends and family, my deepest sympathy on the passing of Pope Francis, a person of power who championed climate justice, human rights, immigrant rights, LGBTQIA+ rights, women’s rights, and much more. I texted with my son all day. “Something has shifted,” he tells me. 😔 QEPD. 🕊️ 📿

Did I miss a memo about pickles, or am I only now noticing? I am almost certain I've never noticed a whole pickle menu (Popeye's), packages of corn puffs (Pickle Balls by Vlasic), and pickled drinks (Dutch Bros.). Pickles with chamoy? Yes. Topo Chico preparado? Yes. But, all these other things?

Gave a talk yesterday for a beautiful community of folks, and I can't stop saying glochids. Must have mentioned it a thousand times. As I type with them all in my fingers (yes, ouch), it's a great reminder that relocating a nopal is for the birds! Much love for the invitation to talk about process.

Exciting for people who’ve never encountered/documented this chulita; however, did no one think to ask locals, ancianos, or native people before naming it & “discovering” it? I can almost guarantee it already has a relational or functional name w/ folks. 🌱☀️✨👀 #my2cents #icouldbewrong #askanabuelita
