Speechless.
Four LAPD officers on horseback surround a man laying on the ground, trample him, and beat him with their polycarbonate "saber" batons.

Content warning: blood, serious head injury. A woman was run down and trampled and clubbed by LAPD officers on horseback. She appears to be seriously injured and bleeding from the head as an officer drags her limp body along the pavement.

The conditions that have led to what’s happening in the US today exist in democracies around the world.
They are an inevitable outcome of our collective failure to adapt to fundamental changes in the information ecosystem on which our democracies were originally built.

I keep seeing people say Musk “failed” in his government takeover.

No, he did not fail.

He shut down investigations into his businesses, he garnered huge contracts, and he stole the personal data of everyone in the US.

That’s not a “failure.” This motherfucker won, and won big.

Wow. Ouvertement à la pêche à l'anecdote pour "soutenir" leur discours raciste. Puisque les vraies stats ne sont pas de leur bord.
Someone should set up a phone line to contact if you were helped in some way by an immigrant. I bet it would get a lot more calls than this ridiculous and offensive ICE line.

Kristi Noem has been working with the producer of “Duck Dynasty” to pitch a reality TV show—titled “The American”—where immigrants will compete in a string of challenges across the country “for the honor of fast-tracking their way to U.S. citizenship,” according to a new report.

JUST IN: Judge HOWELL rules forcefully in favor of Perkins Coie against Trump's punitive executive order, comparing him to a Shakespearean character who famously called to "kill all the lawyers" in order to amass power.

yarvin is like one percent as intelligent as he thinks he is, and his knowledge of history is a quarter inch deep. his only real genius is in packaging his ignorance in a way that made very old right wing ideas sound new and shiny to young tech bros who are nominally literate
So Curtis Yarvin is a fool, so it will not surprise you that 'executive' is not, in fact, a 'literal synonym' of 'monarchy.'

Executive is just "that which carries out" from Latin exsequor, 'to follow to completion.' There is no etymological reason the executive needs to be a single person.
Always funny to me that Yarvin is held up as the great intellect of the New Right and then when he argues for stuff it's this - here's some etymology for a synonym of a word you're using, so we gotta have a tyrant -- checkmate libs. Behold the philosopher.

Les juges américains ont encore du bon sens... C'est encourageant. Mais ont-ils assez de mordant pour y faire quoi que ce soit?
“Allowing the President to unilaterally define the conditions when he may invoke the AEA, and then summarily declare that those conditions exist, would remove all limitations to the Executive
Branch's authority under the AEA…”
Really good to see a federal judge just declared Trump's use of Alien Enemies Act for renditions *unlawful.* This part says, in effect, that Trump can't just say the president gets to make shit up with abandon and then use it to justify illegal kidnappings. Bad faith matters:
