Blue dot, red state. Social media makes us all believe we have something insightful and relevant to say, but mostly it's just the same regurgitated platitudes. I count myself among the regurgitating masses.

If I err in my ideas and beliefs, I would rather do so in pursuit of kindness and justice than grievance and hate.
He's just the most despicable human. I've never spoken to anyone like that, yet he does it daily. I'm immensely ashamed to live in a nation where a plurality of my fellow Americans think this is acceptable behavior and good leadership.
Trump: Will you let me finish? You are the worst. You’re with Bloomberg right? You are the worst. I don’t know why they even have you.

This is like me diligently investigating who took all the Reece's cups out of my kid's Halloween candy. The search continues...
For months, President Donald Trump begged America to forget about Jeffrey Epstein.

Now, he’s suddenly once again very interested in figuring out who enabled or even partook in Epstein’s prolific sexual abuse of underage women—as long as the only people being investigated for crimes are Democrats.
Trump calls for an Epstein investigation into everyone but him
The Department of Justice has launched a probe targeting prominent Democrats.

"I’m sure they don’t want to get crossways with President Donald Trump, their one and only constituent."

As an Alabamian, the people you send to Montgomery do not serve on your behalf. It's only going to get worse if Tubberville is elected governor.
My column this week. When Alabama leaders need to give more money to out-of-state corporations or punish transgender people, they move ruthlessly through state law to reach their goals. When 726,000 Alabamians face hunger, lawmakers are suddenly helpless before the Code of Alabama.
Hunger doesn't seem to be an emergency for Alabama leaders | Alabama Reflector
When Alabama leaders see an emergency, they act fast. Which makes their passivity as 726,000 Alabamians face hunger more striking.

11. The most obscene crimes can be overlooked in the name of class solidarity. You can stack revelations all the way to heaven and it won’t “overcome the elite impunity that’s cosseted Trump for more than 40 years.”

All this Epstein stuff highlights how brazen evil men are. They have no shame for their deeds, only a desire to keep them hidden. They don't slink away into the shadows, they seek power until they're finally toppled. It's pathological. Their humanity is missing something vital.

PREACH

People using DoorDash are definitely not a good cross-section of the population to be ascertaining difficulty with grocery costs. OR that inflation has been tamed (🙄) OR that prices are dropping. AND most assuredly isn't any indicator wages have grown. JFC
Fuck Karoline Leavitt.
First, the federal government getting its economic data from DoorDash is a bit alarming.

Second, people who use DoorDash pay an average of $63 for a meal from McDonald's. Sort of an odd place to look to gauge sensitivity to the cost of food.

Trump voters continue to support him despite his inability to deliver on ANY of his economic promises, because he has exceeded expectations on hurting the people they don't like, Democrats, immigrants, marginalized groups, and minorities. Trump is their vengeance for all imagined wrongs...

HSAs are the school vouchers of the healthcare realm.
Excellent piece from @mirandayaver.bsky.social

“In practice, HSAs tend to benefit people w/ higher incomes… Furthermore, researchers…find that HSAs do not significantly benefit those who struggle with health care costs, and…they exacerbate the racial disparities the ACA has effectively reduced.”

If the constitution, the bill of rights in particular, are God given rights endowed to all men, how can our government strip God given rights from people just because they aren't American citizens?

Boy he sure loves his fellow countrymen, you can tell in the vehement, smarmy way he says, "no, no you don't."
Ingraham: Does that mean the h-1b visa thing will not be a big priority for your administration?

Trump: You have to bring in talent

Ingraham: We have plenty of talent

Trump: No, you don’t

Ingraham: We don’t have talented people here?

Uh, hello, Tim! 🤦

The "free market situation" is the cause of the health care crisis in America.

The free market situation is what the ACA (a la Mitt Romney's MA plan) tried to mitigate.

The GOP has no plan that won't make it worse

This is why Schumer caved.
People on SNAP are starving and people on ACA who cannot afford insurance will suffer and die but what keeps coming up on Morning Joe? Air travel. First-world problems always trump -- pun intended -- poor people's problems.

When your relevancy has long been decayed to a rotted corpse, you can always turn to hate and racism to breathe new life into that desiccated husk. The right seems to love a racist rebirth.
