I sent a cute Instagram reel to my kids (teens), they told me it was AI. 😩 I didn’t know, I didn’t recognize that it was fake! This is so disturbing to me. #IHateThatAIisEverywhere

A free and democratic society cannot silence comedians because the President doesn’t like what they say.

This is an attack on free speech and cannot be allowed to stand.

All elected officials need to speak up and push back on this undemocratic act.

Know what creates empathy? Books. Reading about people unlike ourselves and experiences we'll never have. Which is why some people want to remove those books and discourage reading. Kids and adults should read widely. Most spend their spare time online, which is where indoctrination often begins.

I used to love learning from Lisa Lucas’s posts and missed that when I left Twitter. What a great interview, and now I can follow her on Bluesky. 😊

My kids are teenagers so it’s been awhile since I could hold them in my lap and read to them but I was able to do just that with my almost 3 yr old great-nephew last weekend. The connection and conversation he and I were able to have while reading was pure magic. 💕📚

Trump’s “immigration czar” has been saying for a year that anyone in the US without authorization is a criminal; they repeated this propaganda because they knew people would go along with targeting “criminals.” they always meant more people would be targeted than whoever you think a criminal is.

Every book published in the United States is sent to the Library of Congress. Also, if you are under 16 you cannot use the reading room or order books.

The Library of Congress is a research library.

You have to be 16 to access it.

Leavitt is lying.

😬 This observation is spot on.
I grew up in the 80s so I was taught AI would destroy us in the form of smart killer robots, and humans would mount a resistance to fight them. I didn't realize AI would destroy us by turning our brains off instead, so we would become too stupid to understand the danger.

Five Novels About Coming of Age When You’re Old Enough to Know Better
I used to think of the coming-of-age story as a predominantly teenaged genre: first loves, failed friendships, big mistakes, the mean girls and bad boys of high school hallways and college campuses…
