yeah, elon keeps lobotomizing grok bc LLMs are actually harder to ideologically bias than they appear, even if not impossible obviously. it is more or less trivial, otoh, to bias the content management and discovery software of a social media platform if owner directly intends to
If this is what they are doing with the AI, what do you think they are doing with the much simpler and easier to control algorithm that chooses which posts you see and which of your posts are seen by others?
High end wealth inequality allows for shit like this

Immigrants can't afford to slack off on working. Most people can't. And honestly whether it is the US, UK, Australia or Canada all of these places are expensive to live in and the average household has working underpaid and underemployed people. Want to end the welfare state? UBI and a living wage.

I do think this is a point of radicalization because a lot of angry, angry normal people were ready to dig in and suffer a lot in order to make fascists suffer a little, and their resolution was sold out and made into a mockery

I honestly think the right has become so contrarian-poisoned that they have a knee-jerk belief in the opposite of conventional wisdom. It can feel bold, exciting, rebellious to be against what everyone else (the sheep!) are for. Similarly SV is drunk on “disruption” and lost the plot on what’s good.

The top 5 most expensive things in this chart should absolutely not be decided by markets.
Pretty much all affordability discourse could benefit from just posting this chart.
If you're in the better off America, all the luxury goods you want in excess are for the most part much cheaper. If you're in the poorer America, most of the shit you need to live/grow is more expensive.

More people need to understand that saying only “criminals” should be subjected to expanding state violence around us is what led to the broader public being targeted by it, too. Criminality is subjective, and power determines what it is or is not.

No we can't "move on from electoral politics." We can't mutual-aid our way out of the system we let fascists take over. We do have to actually keep voting and caring about who wins if we don't want every single thing we build to disintegrate.
