A solar farm that could have powered “all the households in Witney” has been refused permission by West Oxfordshire District Council. Councillors were concerned about the risk of fire, one drawing parallels to the 1966 Aberfan disaster: “Until someone can guarantee it is safe, I can’t support it.”

@bbcnewsnight.bsky.social can you hugs manage this level of journalistic enquiry or are you totally useless? Or are yall just secretly fans of him? He has 4 MP’s but your coverage of him seems like he’s the official opposition. LD’s have 79 MP’s- where’s their coverage?
Democrat @raskin.house.gov excoriates Nigel Farage for banning journalists from Reform UK events:

"I'm asking you a direct question. Why do you ban journalists who oppose your views from coming to your events? Why did you tell local government not to do interviews with your local newspaper?"

I turn on my TV and a TV presenter is asking a Govt minister why they are talking about rolling out free childcare when the big issue is asylum hotels. This is objectively insane.

Question: Why did US put big tariffs on India despite major national interest in cultivating a strategic counterweight to China and trying to isolate Russia?

Answer: Because the US president lied that he fixed India-Pakistan and India wouldn’t go along with the lie.

(Seriously, that’s the answer)

My therapist suggested that I write letters to all the people who have wronged me and then throw them into a big fire.
I did that, and I do feel better, but I don’t know what I am supposed to do with all these letters.

What frightens me isn’t just that people have stopped reading. It’s that they’ve replaced reading with mimicry. A quote here, a post there, stitched together to sound like wisdom. And sadly, in this world where books gather dust and posts go viral, it’s very easy to confuse loudness for wisdom.

Tech is down.Utilities are also down. This is a sign of stagflation.Tech stocks usually provide a good return in times of normal or greater growth.Utilities are a steady, lower, rate of return and are useful in a declining economy. No growth, bad tech return. High inflation, bad utility return.
